Intermediate School News and Announcements

eharmsen.JPG

The Intermediate school year continues to go well.  October was a busy month with MEAP Tests.  I was impressed with how hard our students worked to complete the tests.  We had to follow a schedule set by the State of Michigan that had our students working on the test for over two hours on several days.  October 31 was the end of the marking period and we look forward to Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Family Fare Cash for Class program provides participating schools with cash to spend as they choose. How it works:

Simply give the Family Fare cashier your school code and the Family Fare Cash for Class donation will automatically be credited to your school account. It's that easy!

The Family Fare Cash for Class donation credited to your school is 2-1/2% of your member's total purchase.Watch our schoolhouse chalkboard display for school codes and see how much money local schools earn. Schools will receive a check in December, 2008.

KHIS days are October 19-25, 2008 and November 30-December 6, 2008. Our school code is 89521.

Students are now able to purchase snacks on their lunch account from our snack bar. Hopefully this will reduce the amount of cash students bring to school. We offer a range of healthy snacks, water, yogurt, chex mix, ect. and a variety of fun snacks, Little Debbie's, chips, cookies, ect. Please discuss with your child how many and what type of items you will allow them to buy. Because it will be coming out of their account, you will be able to monitor their account by going to lunchdeposit.com.

What is 6th Grade Camp?

Every year 6th graders have the privilege of attending Camp Manitou-Lin in Middleville. They spend three days and two nights participating in activities that build strength, character, and friendships. The courses offered have been selected to provide a cross section of outdoor skills, environmental awareness, teamwork, and goal-oriented tasks. Some of the favorite activities include horseback riding, a rock climbing wall, a zip line, canoeing, and group games.
